Fiber Optic Bundles
FiberTech Optica delivers fiber optic bundles to meet almost any requirement. With virtually no limit on the number of fibers, all of our fiber optic bundles can be configured as spot, line, grid, hex, or custom shape.
Any number of legs can be mapped, randomized, or patterned to customer specifications with precision length tolerances. End terminations can be standard connectors or custom ferrules and jacket options are available for diverse applications. From Deep UV to MIR wavelengths options include single and multimode fibers. Multimode fiber cores are available from 25 to 1800 um in NA’s from 0.10 to 0.37. Different fiber types, and electrical wires can be combined for complete customization.
Features
- Fiber materials: Fused silica, hard polymer clad silica, polymer clad silica, borosilicate glass bundle, ZBLAN & indium fluoride and plastic (POF)
- Fiber type: Multimode step-index and graded-index fibers, singlemode fibers
- Numerical aperture (NA): 0.10 to 0.66
- Length up to 100 m, even for multi-fiber assemblies
- Wavelength coverage: options spanning from Deep-UV to MIR (190 to 5500 nm)
- Straight, bifurcated and multi-branch configurations
- Standard (SMA-905, FC, ST, etc.) or custom connectors, custom design ferrules
- Custom fiber arrangement (random, scrambled or mapped)
- Fiber coatings can be stripped to improve packing efficiency
- Standard temperature range: -40 °C to + 100 °C; both cryogenic and high temperature (up to 280 °C) available
- Additional options: high vacuum compatibility, chemical resistance
Benefits
- Design flexibility in light distribution and management
- Greater mechanical flexibility when compared to rigid single large core fibers
Applications
- Split light from a source into several outputs
- Merge light from several sources into a single output
- Locate equipment away from harsh environments
- Reconfigure the shape of light beam to adapt it to particular conditions
- Redistribute input light intensity
