Fiber Optic Bundles

FiberTech Optica manufactures custom fiber optic bundles for demanding optical systems and instrumentation. With virtually no limit on fiber count, bundles can be configured in spot, linear, grid, hexagonal, or fully customized geometries to optimize light collection and system integration.

We offer mapped, randomized, and application-specific fiber arrangements, with precision-controlled lengths and a wide range of termination options, jacket materials, and protective constructions.

From Deep UV to Mid-Infrared (MIR), FTO provides singlemode and multimode solutions, with multimode cores from 25 µm to 1800 µm and NAs from 0.10 to 0.37. Multiple fiber types and electrical conductors can also be integrated into a single assembly for highly complex applications.

Technical specifications of fiber optic bundle

  • Fiber materials: Fused silica, hard polymer clad silica, polymer clad silica, borosilicate glass bundle, ZBLAN & indium fluoride and plastic (POF)
  • Fiber type:  Multimode step-index and graded-index fibers, singlemode fibers
  • Numerical aperture (NA): 0.10 to 0.66
  • Length up to 100 m, even for multi-fiber assemblies
  • Wavelength coverage: options spanning from Deep-UV to MIR (190 to 5500 nm)
  • Straight, bifurcated and multi-branch configurations
  • Standard (SMA-905, FC, ST, etc.) or custom connectors, custom design ferrules
  • Custom fiber arrangement (random, scrambled or mapped)
  • Fiber coatings can be stripped to improve packing efficiency
  • Standard temperature range: -40 °C to + 100 °C; both cryogenic and high temperature (up to 280 °C) available
  • Additional options: high vacuum compatibility, chemical resistance

Benefits of fiber optic bundles

  • Design flexibility in light distribution and management
  • Greater mechanical flexibility when compared to rigid single large core fibers

Industrial fiber optic bundle applications
